Idk what difficulty OP is playing but regardless I'd add to not trust overwatch, especially with low grades soldiers. you dont need to kill everything a lot of times to succeed the mission.Īnd dont give up, it will feel fucking epic when you turn the tables around from here! Same w facilities, you can even try and sneak in w a single unit, plant charges then evac the fuck out without shooting once (tho it can be quite risky).

W a squad full of rookies ignore the side mission stuff, like getting dropped loot from aliens or keeping a dark vip alive. Flash grenades are also great to decrease enemies accuracy or break mind control so if youre having difficulty keepinf your men alive try deploying one or two, they have a great radius so usually you can weaken a whole pod w just one grenade. Grenades are useful for rookies since they tend to miss a lot. Being grouped up isnt that bad at the beggining unless you have a thing like a muton that can throw AoE grenades, when playing w rookies always treat your next shot as a miss and strategise about what can you do if you miss the alien w soldier A, dont even think of 90% shots as if it would connect. Maybe time to rethink your strategies a bit.įor now, buy rookies if you can afford them just enough to fill the squad (but try and get at least 4 ppl that are ready to deploy), make sure to always trigger one pod only at a time, try and take full cover but always at least half cover.
